SEAL stands for Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning.
It is a focussed and coordinated attempt by the UK Government to teach children and young people the social and emotional skills that they need to learn effectively.
Initially developed in Primary schools, as part of Primary National Strategy, it is now being implemented in Secondary schools. SEAL aims to develop the underpinning qualities and skills that help promote positive behaviour and effective learning. It focuses on five social and emotional aspects of learning: self-awareness, managing feelings, motivation, empathy and social skills
